The Carson Valley Arts Council presents local artists Mark Harris and Mark Tompkins at the Copeland Gallery in Minden from October 29th through December 30th, 2024. The annual Heavenly Holiday Faire at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerline Lane, Gardnerville, is one day only on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024 from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Black Ice Theatre Co, in partnership with Carson Valley Community Theatre,  presents “Misery,” a thriller stage play by William Goldman and directed by Andrea Rogers, based on the novel by Stephen King.

“Misery” tells the story of author Paul Sheldon, who finds himself in a terrifying situation after suffering a horrific car accident and then being held hostage by his “number 1 fan”. Don’t miss this nail-biting story that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end!

Join the Kiwanis Club of Carson Valley at their annual Turkey Bingo event on Saturday, November 23rd at the CVIC Hall in Minden.

There will be three sessions this year, at 12:00pm, 3:00pm, and 6:00pm. Doors will open at 11:30am.

Bingo cards are typically 2 for $1, with daubers available for $1 each. There is no limit to the number of games an individual may play at one time. Games will last until all turkeys are given away and an exciting grand prize is awarded for each session. The Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce is excited to present the 28th Annual Parade of Lights on December 7th. Join your family and friends, and grab your blankets and chairs to watch the floats, marching bands, and color guard make their way along Highway 395 from Heritage Park to Minden Park.

Parade floats will begin to roll from Eddy Street onto Main Street at 5:00pm and will head north though town, make a left on Esmeralda, and make their way to end at Minden Town Park.

Calling all wildlife lovers! This annual weekend showcases birds, wide-open spaces and the cutest calves imaginable! Each year, the calving season draws raptors, including bald eagles, to Carson Valley. Eagles and Agriculture celebrates their arrival and offers a chance to witness these majestic birds. Highlights of the event include an opening dinner, where falconers bring their birds for up close viewing, tours for exclusive access to the ranches, a photography workshop, and a photo contest.

Bus-lead tours will be available this year, allowing participants to learn about the local lore while riding in comfort to each tour site. Tickets will be limited, so reserve early!

Don’t miss this exciting weekend of hot air balloons, competitions, live music, local vendors, and food trucks!

The third annual Carson Valley Hot Air for Hope Balloon Festival will be held at Lampe Park in Gardnerville, Nevada from May 16th-18th, 2025, and will serve as a benefit for the Center for Hope & Healing’s community programs.

Organized by the Carson Valley Balloon Festival and Presented by Carson Tahoe Health, this event is free to the public and will include three public balloon launches from Lampe Park at 6:00am each morning (weather dependent).

On Friday evening, May 16, hot air balloon baskets will fill Lampe Park for “Fire It Up, Carson Valley!” Food trucks and music will start at 6:00pm while pilots set up their gear for one hot night! Be sure to come out and meet the pilots, have a bite to eat, and enjoy some great live music!

In addition to the balloon events, the festivities will include live music, food trucks, live art performances, and local vendors, Friday 6:00pm-10:00pm, Saturday 5:00am-3:00pm (plus Kid’s Zone), and Sunday (food trucks only) from 5:00am-10:00am. Festival activities will occur rain or shine!
